Hong Kong Week One

Second straight night of coming back to the hotel past midnight. This place is awesome.

For the most part, it really did live up to my expectations. Actually it did a little more — because I thought the room would be smaller and I didn’t think Cyberport (corporate building where our office is) would be that big. As I said, It’s also strangely comfortable here, even with the people in and out of the office. Yes, despite the language barrier. In fact in many cases, I’ve found the language barrier to be quite advantageous hahaha.Anyways, for the good stuff…

Wacom Intuos 3

I bought the Wacom! 6×8 Wacom Intuos 3 to be exact. It works great, even with this laptop. I haven’t had much time to really use it yet, but I tried sketching with it and it looks and feels like I’m sketching on paper. Legendary! I can’t wait for my new desktop~

Um also in the pic there’s a gray plastic dog, and that’s actuaally a telephone! Not a mobile phone, a real telephone. Cute eh? Found a lot of cute stuff here actually, and specialty stores that were really nice.

We went to Mong Kok twice already this week, particularly Sino Center (5 floors of gadgets, toys, music, anime stuff, etc). Although apparently it isn’t nearly as fun as it was before (like when the boys where here a few months ago), it was still fun to see so many things. We also went to the Divisoria of Mong Kok — tons of cheap stuff, but many of them are same-old same-old. We did get a few good stuff though, and being there was great already. Bought a couple of tops, CK One (really cheap!), some cute stuff, and stuff to bring home friends and officemates. We also ate at Pizza Hut today because we were too tired to look for anything else at the time. Funny thing is that they treat it like fine-dining, while in the Philippines Pizza Hut is more of the fastfood type that you eat when you can’t think of anything else to haha.

Work has been…strange but okay. I’ve made a lot of observations about the way they do things here, but I’ll hold off my comments… for now. Haha. All I can say is, I now know why things are the way they are, and I sincerely hope that things don’t always stay this way. Anyways, some good things came out of the meetings this week, so overall I’d say it’s an okay work week. Just really messy.

It’s 4:09 and I have to get some sleep. I’ll post about the other stuff I forgot to tomorrow… I’m in Supreme (!!!) Zombie Mode now hahaha. So see ya, hope everyone’s doing fine. Miss you all already :)

Amazing.

Waiting.

Surprisingly enough, this place gave me an oddly comfortable feeling from the moment I set foot in it. Despite the fact that finding our way back to the hotel sometimes becomes a problem, there’s just something about this place.

It reminds me too much of the places I grew up in. And it feels like such a small town. No need to understand it. I’m just glad I came. I really needed it, it seems. And I’m hoping this trip brings me more to my senses than it’s already started to.

I’ll post more details over the weekend. That’s when we really go out. Gimme what you got Hong Kong.

Squish

Squibby

Yay! I got this really cute mini-cow as a pahabol birthday present from Columbia~ Waaaaah it’s so cute! Squish. I started out calling it Squibby but now I call it… Cuapao! Umm I don’t really name my stuff, but it really makes me think of cuapao when I see it. Moohaha~

Because I can’t bring the bigger squishy cow to Hong Kong. Now at least I have something. c:

I’m leaving Monday morning btw. Will get online as often as I can, but I guess I’ll be out a lot so I don’t miss out c:

Now here’s a fun game for alla youz crazy gamers — Bloons Tower Defense. Basically, you set up your defenses so the “bloons” don’t reach the end of the road. It gets harder per stage, and you need to finish all 50 stages to win the game. It might not look like it, but there’s a significant amount of strategy involved, so don’t just keep throwing monkeys around haha. Btw thanks to Francis for the link, and also coz he showed me a secret/cheat/imba-strategy for a sure win moohaha. Enjoy! XD

Oh babe, I hate to go.

Hong Kong

I’m going to Hong Kong.

Well, I don’t really mean the title, but that song really comes to mind when I think of leaving. I won’t lie, I do feel anxious about going, especially since it’ll be for 2 weeks. As many of you know, I’m the type of person who gets homesick, and who enjoys the comfort of familiar things. So hey, 2 weeks is a long time for me haha. But even having said that, I look forward to it.

By the way, it’s for work so it doesn’t qualify as a vacation. Basically the company’s sending some of us there. I hear it’s pretty hardcore there too, like the office atmosphere is really thick, tense, serious. I mean that’s how they work and that’s great, but it’ll certainly be a constant reminder that I’m not home.

I’ll miss people, I’ll miss my squishy cow.

It probably doesn’t show but I am excited. Just not in the “tourist” kinda way. Although, I look forward to seeing the famous Hong Kong city lights. Still, expect last-minute jitters before I leave harhar.
