Monster in the fridge?

It was pretty good too, not to mention, it was the first time we’d all even heard of the brand. I was even against buying it at that time, because it seemed like an “ambiguous Chinese brand”. I was kinda joking — what irony. Oh well, too bad. :<

Another messy update: HK Week One

First of all, I’d like to mention that my laptop (and consequently, myself) just recovered from a nasty virus attack, which I have no idea how I got. It may have something to do with IE being the security nightmare that its reputation so loudly warns us of, but I’m not really sure because I think it started while I was using Firefox. In any case, for some reason after some random attempts at fixing it through Avira, Unlocker and some manual deleting, it’s gone. I’m not exactly sure how it happened (it was a very complicated process) but I’m not complaining. :]

Now a quick rundown again (Abby, you suck at blogging, seriously).

Week one was awesome, the presentation was awesome, and the clients signed, which is also equally if not even more awesome. :] They’re a BIG client, and now that they’ve taken interest in what we have, others are definitely gonna follow. I can’t wait to see how things turn out.

Did you guys see the opening ceremony of the Olympics? That was so cool!

44 mins to the Olympics

They said that getting to the Beijing from here in HK is cheap and easy because of the whole tourism thing, but we didn’t go. Not like we could really get our effort’s (and money’s) worth in a day’s trip back and forth. So I just saw it on TV. Man, would’ve been awesome seeing all that up-close.

And as for shopping, the boys here bought some toys, and being the dorks that we are, we’ve been having a blast with the 4 Transformers Revoltech action figures Ali bought. Check it out:

Not bad eh? Now THESE are toys! Haha! If they release Gundam W ones, I’m buying. Call it sentiment.

Aaaand I bought a really nice bag! Seriously, that was what I went out shopping for haha! I’m gonna start using it tomorrow. Oh and got mi mum a nice present too. ;]

Why so serious?

I cannot begin to explain how epic The Dark Knight was, or IS. I watched it with officemates today, and wow. Just… wow. It was done so well, and Heath Ledge[nd] was insanely awesome, pun intended. That’s one disturbing Joker. Oh words fail me.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

If you haven’t seen it, I can assure you that it’s safe to set your expectations high before you do, and it will be great. It’s not even a matter of opinion, it is EPIC. And if you have seen it, a virtual high-five to you, for our lives will never be the same.

It deserves the 9.7 / 10.

I highly recommend it. In fact I’ve been pushing it like a drug on some people.

The pros. First off, it’s like unlocking the best of the internet. You’ve probably seen dozens of sites on a certain topic, but how much are you getting out of them? For how accessible the internet seems (what with Google, Technorati, so on), for most of us, sorting out the good sites from the bad is a bit of a challenge. SU does it for you, based on your actual interests. In fact, I found more great sites in a few hours (including actually going through those sites) than I could’ve found in a couple of days normally. The way I see it, you can’t go wrong.

The cons. If you’re anything like me, you may end up spending more time on the internet than you normally do. And if you’ve any game-related sites ticked in your preferences, it won’t be long till you catch a site that catches you back. Not to mention, without SU, you’d probably be a straight-to-the-point kind of person — if you need sites on Web Development, you head for those right away. But with SU, you’d probably spend some time on that nice photography site you… well, stumbled upon, before snapping out of it and remembering the task at hand. Of course you could always tick everything else off in your prefs, but I doubt you’d do that if you’re anything like me. Then again, I may just be going through a hype phase, who knows?

So despite the slightly longer paragraph on cons, I still do highly recommend it. It’s helped me get some ideas for design, art, marketing and even for this blog. Not to mention I get my regular dose of entertainment while I’m at it.

Rawr.

MTG’s Ravenous Baloth, based loosely on Todd Lockwood’s version. I have to say I learned a lot coloring this one, and it didn’t take me that long relatively. Long overdue favor.

I just updated my DevArt with this baby. Isn’t he cute? He’s out looking for a hug.

New PC.

My new PC.

I keep putting this post off, but anyways here he is. I’m thinking of naming him… “Larry”.

Kidding.

I went over my budget for this guy:

Processor: 2.2GHz AMD Phenom™ 9500 Quad-Core Processor
Memory: 2GB DDR2
Storage: 500GB Seagate HDD SATA
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
Monitor: ViewSonic 19″ widescreen LCD (Black)
Extras: UPS, CPUfan Gigabyte, Badass CPU case (But yeah paid extra…)

Might have missed something, but whatever. :] It hurt my savings but it’s very much worth it.
