So I just updated my Firefox to version 3.0 — released today in this region. It’s supposedly more efficient in terms of memory, and provides more safety. Naturally it’s hard to really tell at this point, so I’m just gonna nod, smile, and keep that in mind as I keep using it. Thanks to Beta development, we already have add-ons to work with even now (I’m already using a theme similar to my old one, as you can see). One great part about Fx3.0 is that it matches the default theme with whatever system and OS you’re using. So for Mac OS X users, it’ll fit in real well.
Fx3.0 also now complies better with CSS. In fact, it passed the standard Acid2 test, meaning designers don’t need to worry about their CSS tricks. IE’s version 7 (the latest release) on the other hand, failed the test, and the upcoming IE8 is still struggling to hit that mark. Once again our Fox has won the CSS race. You’re a good little foxy, yes you are.
And the Fox chirps! If you go to the Mozilla add-ons page now, you’ll find the TwitterFox add-on, as seen on my screenshot. I’ve only been using it for an hour but I recommend it already. Granted, it suffers the same problem as other Twitter apps with the rate limit, but it’s more convenient than any of the other apps I have. Tucks away nicely when you don’t need it, and easy to pull out when you do. Love the UI too.
Go go, get your Firefox updated!

Grabbed from Mikko. According to this highly scientific test, I am “Insanely High - A Vibrating Crackhead”. Oddly enough I haven’t had coffee yet, in fact right now my head’s hurting from the sheer lack of it. I clicked 181 times. I wonder if I should take it again after having coffee…

Woot! I upgraded my Wordpress to the latest stable 2.5.1, and I just finished fixing the little details of the upgrade. Took me a few hours though, there was even a time my posts wouldn’t display because of a rookie mistake haha.

A large part of those few hours was spent looking for an Extended Live Archive tweak to make it compatible with WP 2.5, apparently the most recent fix is for 2.3. Craptastic. I’m settling for the normal archives while waiting for a fix, it won’t be long. That’s what I love about Wordpress, you got this really active community and developer team, so it just keeps getting better.
Speaking of getting better, so what do I think about WP 2.5? Well, I have to admit, it’s eye-candy to me and my judgment so far is pretty much limited to just that. Basically, I haven’t poked around with it enough since I just got it up, but it’s already looking good from here. Everything in it just screams “upgrade”. As for usability issues, I’ll use it a bit more and get back to you. So far what I notice is that it isn’t “simple” anymore, but it sure is functional. And I have no complaints so far, though I’m no expert.
Aaaand speaking of usability, I agree with the rest of the WP universe — if you’re using WP, you must get the admin drop down plug-in. You MUST.

A very interesting meme, nabbed from Mikko.
1. The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post it in your own.
Memory Disambiguation. A set of techniques employed by high-performance out-of-order execution microprocessors that execute memory access instructions (loads and stores) out of program order.
Eleanora (1942). “Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.” - Edgar Allan Poe
Bury Your Dead. Bury Them Deep.
I actually like that result. How awesome is that? Go wild kids. ;]

I love Scrubs. I really do.
Yesterday I bought season 1-6 and I’m currently going through season 2 onwards (Yeah I’m still watching HIMYM don’t worry). I remember catching it on TV before and immediately deciding that it was one of my favorites.
There was a column on it by Alan Sepinwall, as he thought about its current and final season (season 7), and here’s how a part of it goes—
Because it debuted in the waning days of NBC’s comedy empire (even briefly airing after “Friends,” but so irregularly that it didn’t help build an audience), overlapped with several other laugh track-free comedies that got bigger ratings and/or more award show love (”Malcolm in the Middle,” “Arrested Development”), and comes to the end of its run with so many other shows having cribbed from it, “Scrubs” never got and probably never will get the credit it deserves. But at its best, it was as funny as any other comedy on television, as moving as any drama.
How sad and unfortunate. But for the rest of us who love it, and get as many insights with a short dive into JD’s mind as with an entire speech from any speaker, it’s really one of the best out there.

Yay! I got this really cute mini-cow as a pahabol birthday present from Columbia~ Waaaaah it’s so cute! Squish. I started out calling it Squibby but now I call it… Cuapao! Umm I don’t really name my stuff, but it really makes me think of cuapao when I see it. Moohaha~
Because I can’t bring the bigger squishy cow to Hong Kong. Now at least I have something. c:
I’m leaving Monday morning btw. Will get online as often as I can, but I guess I’ll be out a lot so I don’t miss out c:
Now here’s a fun game for alla youz crazy gamers — Bloons Tower Defense. Basically, you set up your defenses so the “bloons” don’t reach the end of the road. It gets harder per stage, and you need to finish all 50 stages to win the game. It might not look like it, but there’s a significant amount of strategy involved, so don’t just keep throwing monkeys around haha. Btw thanks to Francis for the link, and also coz he showed me a secret/cheat/imba-strategy for a sure win moohaha. Enjoy! XD
